Hear a new song from Dawn Richard, “A FLEX”

Dawn Richard has released a new track, “A FLEX,” out today via Merge Records. It’s Richard’s first solo single since 2023’s “Bubblegum,” and her first new music since last year’s Quiet in a World Full of Noise, with Spencer Zahn. It’s also a return to the futuristic, New Orleans-influenced R&B sound and of her 2021 album, Second Line. Hear it below.

“The track is the kind of confidence that only I can give in my records,” Richard said in a statement. “Dipped in legacy, the kind of flex that comes from survival, culture, and craft. It signals a new album on the way, one that continues my mission of building worlds through sound, movement, and memory.”
