Chicago post-punk group Ganser have just released their new EP, Nothing You Do Matters. Earlier this year, they shared their video for “People Watching,” and today they’ve also dropped another new video, for “What Me Worry?” Driven by a taut bassline and noisy guitar riffs, it’s as tuneful as it is dense and heavy. Watch the video below, directed by the band’s Nadia Garofalo and Alicia Gaines, and hear the EP in full.
Gaines said in a press release, “‘What Me Worry?’ came out of, well, a lot of recent worrying. I wanted to examine my concerns by dressing them up as a performance or talk show, to tell myself to snap out of it from the perspective of someone that knows better than I do. The smallest, personal worries can blind us to larger questions in life, they can be a distraction and nuisance like a television playing in the background. There’s the show of your life and then there’s your actual life, and the challenge is to dissect those from each other while there’s still time.”
In 2020, Ganser released Just Look At That Sky. Gaines also told us about her favorite song by Broadcast in our recent Greatest Hits feature.
