Mitski announces details of new album, The Land Is Inhospitable and So Are We

Mitski has announced the details of her new album, The Land Is Inhospitable and So Are We. It’s out September 15 via Dead Oceans, and its first single is “Bug Like an Angel.” Watch its video below, directed by Noel Paul.

Recorded in both Los Angeles and Nashville, the album features an orchestra conducted and arranged by Drew Erickson, as well as a 17-person choir. A press release cites inspirations ranging from Ennio Morricone to Scott Walker, as well as Arthur Russell and Caetano Veloso. Check out the album’s artwork and tracklist below.

Mitski’s last album was 2021’s Laurel Hell.
