Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, Iggy Pop, HEALTH and more cancel shows in Russia
Earlier this week, Green Day announced they’d be canceling their upcoming show in Moscow, and more artists have been announcing their own cancellations of upcoming shows in the aftermath of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds have canceled their upcoming shows in Russia and Ukraine, saying in a social media post that “Our thoughts and love go out to the brave people of Ukraine, their heroic leader, and all those suffering from this senseless war.”
Iggy Pop has also canceled an upcoming festival appearance in Russia, and a message on his official Twitter account reads, “Our thoughts are with the Ukrainians and all the brave people who oppose this violence and seek peace.”
HEALTH also announced cancellations of their three upcoming shows in Russia, writing, “Though we do not wish to penalize our fans for governmental decisions that are beyond their control, given the current state of affairs we will no longer be performing our previously scheduled shows in St. Petersburg and Moscow. Our thoughts go out to the people of Ukraine.”
Other announced live show cancellations in Russia include Franz Ferdinand and The Killers, though it seems probable that there are more to be announced in the coming weeks.
