Saul Williams announces new album, Leap Life

Saul Williams has announced a new album. On August 28, he’ll release Leap Life via Big Dada. The album features appearances from Carlos Niño, Robert Del Naja (Massive Attack), Kamasi Washington, Georgia Anne Muldrow and Surya Botofasina. Today he’s released “Conspiracy,” which features both Moor Mother and Gonjasufi. Hear it below.
Williams describes the album as an attempt to commune with the dead, and wrestles with questions about how the living remain accountable to the dead in the aftermath of devastation like that seen in Palestine, Sudan, Haiti, Congo and Yemen.
“We’re going to need those spirits,” he said in a statement. “There’s an understanding that the soldiers in our struggle are not only the visible ones. There are people standing and fighting with us that we may not see.”
Last year, Williams released the collaborative album, Saul Williams meets Carlos Niño & Friends at Treepeople.
