Stream billy woods and Preservation’s new album, Aethiopes

Today is another new release Friday, and there are a lot of notable albums hitting shelves today. And while this one isn’t technically hitting shelves yet (well, CDs and cassettes are, vinyl is expected in September), billy woods and Preservation‘s new album Aethiopes is now available on digital platforms via Backwoodz Studioz. It’s as dark and haunting a record as you’d expect from the two rap artists, and finds them crafting an atmospheric yet gritty set of songs together, and they’re in good company—El-P, Quelle Chris, Boldy James, Mike Ladd, and Shinehead all make appearances throughout the album. Preservation’s last album was 2020’s Eastern Medicine, Western Illness. Last year, billy woods released the excellent Haram with Armand Hammer, which followed his 2020 collaboration with Moor Mother, BRASS.
