The Weeknd announces very expensive Trilogy vinyl set

Usually artists think of creative ways to move extra vinyl units, such as digital downloads or cheap gimmicks, but the Weeknd’s three mixtapes are already available for download, and he’s just not the type of guy for gimmicks. So his six-vinyl collection, which includes original album art for all three 2011 mixtapes (House of Balloons, Thursday, and Echoes of Silence), is available for the price of $199 and will be released March 26. Only 500 prints are being made worldwide, according to the artist’s webstore, so there’s the rarity factor to add to the intrigue as well.
