Stream the dreamy, shapeshifting new album from Vákoum, Linchpin
Experimental pop duo Vákoum are releasing their debut album Linchpin on Friday, February 19. And today, the album is streaming in its entirety through Treble. The duo of Kelli Rudick and Natalia Padilla build lush sonic creations that meld elements of dream-pop and electronic music, swirling together contrasting elements that at times recall the blissful shoegaze of Slowdive, the mutant pop of Arca and the shape-shifting anthems of Björk.
The group says of the new album, “Linchpin is a passage for transformation. It is an emotive conversation set to challenge ourselves. It is the most vulnerable work we have ever done musically and personally, which made the process both difficult and beautiful. It is written about the pain we experience, the ones we hurt and ultimately about trying to detoxify from that which prevents us from loving fully.”
