On May 15, Alan Braufman will release new album Anthem For Peace via Valley of Search. The veteran alto saxophonist and flautist has released a handful of tracks from the album, including the soulful and catchy title track as well as the mesmerizing spiritual jazz daydream “Angels.” Today, Braufman debuts a new video by Rena Johnson for “In Motion,” recorded live at the Bunker Studio in one take, featuring vibraphonist Patricia Brennan, bassist Luke Stewart and drummer Chad Taylor, who also perform alongside Braufman on the album. It’s the most animated and lively of the tracks Braufman has released thus far, with each of the four musicians getting a spotlight to show off their undeniable chops. It’s a stunning display of musicianship, a hypnotic groove, and a lot of fun to witness for that matter. Watch the “In Motion” video below.

Alan Braufman’s 1975 spiritual jazz recording Valley of Search became a cult classic before being reissued in 2018. He’s since recorded three new albums, including 2020’s The Fire Still Burns, which was featured on our list of the 20 Best Jazz Albums of 2020.
