Xiu Xiu cancel tour dates
After releasing the dark, disturbing and thoroughly Xiu Xiu album Angel Guts: Red Classroom, Xiu Xiu has announced that their upcoming U.S. tour dates have been canceled. The primary culprit for the date cancellations is Jamie Stewart’s throat and voice, and he has been advised not to sing for two months.
Stewart released the following statement: “I am disappointed and very sorry to say that Xiu Xiu will have to postpone our upcoming tour. I have been having increasing trouble with my throat for years, and this week my doctor advised me not to sing for at least two months or risk losing it permanently. Hopefully, as soon as possible, we will be able reschedule these dates. Thank you to our fans for continuing to support us. We love you all and look forward to seeing you all soon.”
Ticket holders for any of the band’s upcoming shows will receive refunds. Check out the list of canceled dates below.
