Twin Shadow, Swervedriver added to SXSW lineup
SXSW is happening again on March 17-22 — you can’t stop it! Last month we learned about the initial lineup of bands playing this year, including Jessie Ware, The Pop Group, Thee Oh Sees, The Church, Pharmakon, Courtney Barnett and Alvvays. Today, the Austin-based festival has revealed a lengthy list of other acts playing, and it’s starting to look like a hell of a hootenanny. Among the bands added to the second round SXSW lineup are Twin Shadow, Swervedriver, Gang of Four, The Amazing Snakeheads, Jacco Gardner, Giant Sand, KEN Mode, King Tuff, La Luz, Nikki Lane, Sophie, Water Liars, Guy Blakeslee, Turbo Fruits and many others.
It’s a long list, and a pretty diverse one, though between The Church, The Pop Group and Swervedriver, you could spend most of your time seeing some iconic legacy acts if you really wanted to. And since those bands are all pretty great, that might be at least worth considering. But then again, Pharmakon is guaranteed to leave an impression. You’ve got time to think about it — you should probably get your hotel booked now. Check out the full list of SXSW performers here.
