Rock and Roll Hall of Fame 2016 nominees announced
The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame has announced its list of 2016 nominees, which includes a handful of artists that have been nominated once or twice before, but as of yet have not been inducted. The list of nominees this year includes Nine Inch Nails, The Smiths, N.W.A., Janet Jackson, Chic, The Cars, Deep Purple, Cheap Trick, Chaka Khan, Yes, Chicago, The Spinners, Los Lobos and Steve Miller.
To be nominated, an artist must have released their first single or album 25 years ago or earlier (1990 is the cutoff). Fans can vote for their favorites of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame 2016 nominees on the Rock Hall website. The top five artists of the public vote tally will comprise a “fans’ ballot” that will be tallied with other votes from an international voting body. The inductees will be announced in December.
We would just like to state that we very much like the idea of Nine Inch Nails in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
