Hear an unreleased, alternate take of John Coltrane’s “Acknowledgement”
On November 20, Verve Music Group will release John Coltrane’s A Love Supreme: The Complete Masters. It’s a three-disc box set featuring the original, iconic 1965 jazz album, plus a disc of unreleased sessions and a live recording of the album in full, performed in 1965. Today, the Wall Street Journal has shared an alternate take of the leadoff track, “Acknowledgement.” Listen below, and check out the reissue’s tracklist.
