Listen to the new Flaming Lips track, “We a Famly”

On Friday, Jan. 13, The Flaming Lips will release their new album, Oczy Mlody via Warner Bros. The neo-psych heroes have already shared a new track from the album, titled “The Castle,” which they debuted in the form of a new music video back in 2016. Today, they have another track from the album, titled “We A Famly,” which they’ve shared in the form of a lyric video. The track features Miley Cyrus, and was originally intended to be on her Dead Petz album, recorded with the Lips. The group released a statement about the song:

“… at first this song was intended to be part of the Miley Cyrus and Her Dead Petz record.. Then we (her and us) lost interest in it… It was, back then, very slow and serious… But after speeding it up (a lot) and adding the galloping ‘We A Famly’ sing-a-long bit we thought it was dorky enough and fun enough to present to the world. And… We (Cyrus and us) really do say to each other, all the time, ‘We A Famly.'”
