Joy Division, Iron Maiden, Wu-Tang Clan to be inducted into Rock and Roll Hall of Fame

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame has announced its induction class of 2026. This year’s inductees include Joy Division/New Order, Sade, Iron Maiden, Oasis, Wu-Tang Clan, Luther Vandross, Phil Collins and Billy Idol. It’s the first year that Wu-Tang Clan and Vandross were nominated, while all the other inductees had previously been nominated—Oasis, Iron Maiden and Joy Division/New Order twice. The artists who were nominated but won’t be inducted this year are Mariah Carey, Jeff Buckley, Lauryn Hill, the Black Crowes, Shakira and P!nk.
In addition to the primary inductions, Fela Kuti, Queen Latifah, MC Lyte, and Gram Parsons are being honored with the Early Influence Award. And Rick Rubin and Linda Creed will receive Music Excellence awards. The Ahmet Ertegun Award for non-artists this year will go to the late Ed Sullivan.
Last year’s class included The White Stripes, Outkast and Cyndi Lauper. The induction ceremony will take place on November 14 in Los Angeles, and a broadcast will follow on ABC and Disney+ in December.
