This year’s list includes returning nominees Oasis, The White Stripes, Mariah Carey, Soundgarden, Joy Division and New Order, plus first-time nominees Outkast and Phish. Rounding out the list of 14 artists are Cyndi Lauper, Bad Company, Billy Idol, the Black Crowes, Chubby Checker, Joe Cocker, and Maná. Sinéad O’Connor, Sade, and Eric B. & Rakim were nominated in 2024 but did not make the list of nominees this year.

Last year’s inductions included Cher, A Tribe Called Quest, Dave Matthews Band, Mary J. Blige, Ozzy Osbourne, Kool & the Gang, Peter Frampton, and Foreigner.

Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Foundation chair John Sykes said in a press release, “These remarkable Nominees have each created their own musical style and attitude impacting generations of music lovers and contributing to the ever evolving sounds and continued growth of rock & roll.”

The final nominees will be announced in April, with an induction ceremony to follow later this fall.
