Emma Ruth Rundle has announced a new album. Five years after the release of her stark 2021 album Engine of Hell, she’s announced These Killing Times via her own Errant Child imprint. It’s also a bigger, louder album featuring a number of guest musicians, including  Jess Gowrie (Chelsea Wolfe), Troy Zeigler, Patrick Shiroishi, Nick Reinhart (Tera Melos), Gina Gleason (Baroness), Marissa Nadler, Lukas Frank (Storefront Church) and Amelia Baker (Cinder Well). The first single is “Powerless.” Hear it below.

Rundle said about “Powerless” in a statement, “This song was initially titled ‘Noam Chomsky is Dead to Me’ – as his relationship to Epstein and the billionaire class was being exposed – just another massively disappointing headline in a time where we are incessantly confronted with an onslaught of news and headlines which are endlessly demoralizing and dehumanizing.”

Emma Ruth Rundle & Thou’s May Our Chambers Be Full is featured on our list of the 100 Best Albums of the 2020s so far.
