Angel Olsen shares new version of “Big Time” featuring Sturgill Simpson

Earlier this year, Angel Olsen released the outstanding new album Big Time, which saw the singer/songwriter more fully embracing her country roots. Now, she’s shared a new recording of “Big Time” that drives that point home even further, featuring vocals from fellow not-not country artist Sturgill Simpson.

Olsen originally shared a teaser about the duet on social media with Simpson’s name covered up, leading fans to make guesses about whether her co-vocalist was Lucinda Williams, Emmylou Harris or even recent duet-mate (and tour-mate) Sharon Van Etten. Though a subsequent post that reads “June & Johnny. Nancy & Lee. Dolly & Porter. Loretta & Conway. Emmylou & Gram” indicated that it was going to be a male-female pairing.
