Bob Dylan announces massive live box set, The 1974 Live Recordings

A massive box set of Bob Dylan live recordings with The Band is on the way. On September 20, to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Dylan’s return to touring after a hiatus, The 1974 Live Recordings will be released via Columbia/Legacy, which features 417 previously unreleased live tracks. That’s a lot of live Dylan! It’ll be released as a 27 CD box set, which includes 133 recordings newly mixed from 16-track tape, and every single surviving soundboard recording, in addition to liner notes written by music journalist and musician Elizabeth Nelson. Take a look at the full tracklist, and hear a previously unreleased live version of “Forever Young” below.
In conjunction with this huge live box set, Third Man Records has announced The 1974 Live Recordings – The Missing Songs From Before the Flood, a 3xLP and one 7-inch set featuring highlights selected from the 27-disc set, with versions of each song recorded that wasn’t included on Dylan’s original 1974 live album.
