The Flaming Lips plan 20th anniversary box set reissue of Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots
This year marks the 20th anniversary of The Flaming Lips‘ 2002 album, Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots. And frontman Wayne Coyne has been revealing information about a 20th anniversary reissue that’s on the way. Over on his Instagram, he posted the artwork for the upcoming box set reissue, which hasn’t officially been announced yet via Warner Bros., but according to Coyne is due later this year (vinyl probably not until 2023). The set will feature six CDs, including the original 11-track album, plus remixes and all the b-sides from its singles, as well as Wayne’s 4-track demo recordings, live performances from Boston in 2002 and London in 2003, plus new interviews with Coyne, Steven Drozd, producer Dave Fridmann, manager Scott Booker, and other bonus material.
