Interpol are heading back into the studio. The group are recording their seventh album and follow-up to 2018’s Marauder, this time working with Flood and Alan Moulder, whose long list of production, mixing and engineering credits include Depeche Mode, Smashing Pumpkins and Nine Inch Nails.

“We are overjoyed to announce Flood & Moulder will be producing and mixing the next Interpol record,” says Interpol’s Daniel Kessler. “We are longtime admirers of their work and delighted to be in the studio with them. Starting this party right.”

The band are currently in London, working on the new album, which is slated for release in 2022 via Matador Records. The band have also lined up a series of tour dates in 2022. Check those out below.

  • Kind of you to continue to acknowledge this band since they’ve declined so dramatically over the years. I doubt that even the combination of Flood and Alan Moulder can save them at this point.
