Listen to new albums by Sharon Van Etten, Deerhunter and Toro y Moi
Today’s a new release Friday, and the 2019 release calendar is starting to fill up with more great music. One of the big releases out today is Remind Me Tomorrow, Sharon Van Etten‘s first new album in five years. It follows 2014’s Are We There, and it’s also our Album of the Week. Here’s what our Max Pilley said about it: “it is compelling in a different way to her previous work, perhaps signalling the start of a second, more experimental phase in her career.”
Listen to it below.
Today is also the release date of the new album by Deerhunter, Why Hasn’t Everything Already Disappeared. It follows 2015’s Fading Frontier and finds them going in more of a baroque pop direction, with lots of elements of ’60s-era psychedelia (as well as some of their own unique freakouts).
Give it a listen below.
Today is also the release date of Toro y Moi‘s new album Outer Peace. It’s a more house- and funk-inspired set of pop music, with Chaz Bundick moving deeper into club-oriented sounds as he evolves further as an artistic shape-shifter.
