Liz Phair announces Girly-Sound to Guyville box set
On May 4, Matador Records is releasing a box set of early Liz Phair material, titled Girly-Sound to Guyville. It features the singer/songwriter’s acclaimed debut album, Exile In Guyville, which turns 25 this year, as well as her self-released Girly-Sound tapes, Yo Yo Buddy Yup Yup Word To Ya Mutha, Girls! Girls! Girls! and Sooty. The 7xLP box set also features an oral history of Exile in Guyville, featuring interviews with Phair, Casey Rice, Brad Wood, Gerald Cosloy and Chris Brokaw among others, as well as an essay from Phair, an essay from critic Ann Powers, unreleased photos and more. All of the releases have been remastered, and Phair is doing a short tour to support the new box set release. Take a look at those dates below, along with the tracklist for each of the releases.
