Mabe Fratti and Bill Orcutt announce collaborative album, Almost Waking

Mabe Fratti and Bill Orcutt are both acclaimed artists in their respective avant garde spheres, and they both release a lot of music. But this year marks the first time that they’ll release a collaborative album. On May 22, Fratti and Orcutt will release their first full-length collaboration, Almost Waking, via Unheard of Hope. The album features Orcutt playing guitar and Fratti playing cello as well as providing vocals, and Fratti’s partner in Titanic, I.La Católica also provides some cello arrangements.

They’ve released two tracks from the eight-track album, “Almost Waking” and “El Inicio es cuestión de suerte,” one of them an instrumental and one featuring vocals. Hear them below.
