Mastodon and Dinosaur Jr. cancel tour dates
Earlier this year, Mastodon announced they would be embarking on a co-headlining tour with Dinosaur Jr. The dates were supposed to kick off in Edmonton this weekend, but the tour dates have been canceled as of Thursday afternoon. In a social media post, Dinosaur Jr. announces that the cancellation comes about as a result of a “critical situation of a member of the Mastodon family.” All of the two bands’ co-headlining dates, up through September 21 in Silver Spring, Maryland, have been canceled. Additionally, the Dinosaur Jr. headlining date on August 31 in Missoula, Montana, has likewise been canceled. “We are sorry to disappoint our fans and Mastodon’s, and thank you for understanding,” says Dinosaur Jr. in the post.
To date, Mastodon are still scheduled to perform at the Adult Swim Festival in Los Angeles on Oct. 5-7. Take a look at the canceled tour dates below.
