On October 30, Philadelphia shoegazers Nothing release their new album The Great Dismal via Relapse. And the night before that, the band is playing a live streamed release show, The Great Dismal: An Auditory And Ocular Trauma, which will also feature Maryland deathgrind group Full of Hell. The band is also collaborating with filmmakers Mike Martinez and Tyler Wray, projectionist Ricardo Rivera, and experimental videographer Frank Huang, to provide a more interesting visual element to the performance. It’s a ticketed stream, and 20 percent of proceeds go toward NIVA Emergency Relief Fund, which is distributed to venue workers who have lost work or employment due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The show starts at 9 p.m. Eastern on BandofNothing.com on October 29.

The Great Dismal follows Nothing’s 2018 album Dance on the Blacktop. It features guest appearances from harpist Mary Lattimore, singer/songwriter Alex G, and classical musician Shelley Weiss. Check out their new track “Bernie Sanders” below.
