The 2025 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductees has been revealed. The Rock Hall class of 2025 includes Cyndi Lauper, Outkast, The White Stripes, Soundgarden, Bad Company, Chubby Checker, and Joe Cocker. The announcement was made on last night’s American Idol, during a Rock & Roll Hall of Fame-themed episode.
The Musical Influence Award this year goes to Salt-N-Pepa and Warren Zevon. The award is given to artists whose music had an impact on rock and roll or influenced some of its leading artists. The Musical Excellence Award will go to Philadelphia soul producer Thom Bell; bassist Carol Kaye, who worked with the Beach Boys, Nancy Sinatra, David Axelrod and Glen Campbell; and keyboardist Nicky Hopkins, who recorded with The Who and the Rolling Stones. Lenny Waronker, co-founder of DreamWorks Records, will receive the Ahmet Ertegun Award.
Among the artists nominated this year that weren’t inducted are Oasis, Mariah Carey, Joy Division/New Order, Phish, Billy Idol, the Black Crowes, and Maná. Last year, the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inducted Cher, A Tribe Called Quest, Dave Matthews Band, Mary J. Blige, Ozzy Osbourne, Kool & the Gang, Peter Frampton, and Foreigner.
The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony will be held on November 8 in Los Angeles and will be broadcast live via Disney+, and available to stream the next day via Hulu. It’ll air on ABC at a later date.
