Sharon Van Etten & the Attachment Theory announce debut album
Sharon Van Etten has announced the self-titled debut album of her new band, Sharon Van Etten & the Attachment Theory. It’s out February 7 via Jagjaguwar and the record was written entirely in collaboration with her band: Jorge Balbi (drums, machines), Devra Hoff (bass, vocals), and Teeny Lieberson (synth, piano, guitar, vocals). The first single is “Afterlife.” Hear it below.
“For the first time in my life I asked the band if we could just jam. Words that have never come out of my mouth – ever! But I loved all the sounds we were getting. I was curious – what would happen?” Van Etten said in a statement. “In an hour we wrote two songs that ended up becoming ʻI Canʼt Imagineʼ and ʻSouthern Life.ʼ”
Sharon Van Etten’s last solo album was 2021’s We’ve Been Going About This All Wrong.
