New Orleans synth punks Special Interest recently announced their signing to long-running indie label Rough Trade, and today they’ve shared their first new single through the label. The group’s new single is called “(Herman’s) House,” and it leans heavy on the group’s beat-driven, danceable side. It’ll be released as a limited-edition 7-inch single in July. Hear it below.

Vocalist Alli Logout and guitarist Maria Elena say in a press release, “Despite the sadistic torture they endured, they continued their fight towards Black liberation behind the prison walls. This song bears witness to our wonder and desire to dismantle the oppressive systems that hinder our possibilities towards true liberation, to annihilate, to destroy and to rebuild with one another. It’s a battle cry for dreamers who persist in spite of and because. This song moves us and it grooves us towards this end, may we go forward but not by ourselves.

Special Interest’s last album was 2020’s The Passion Of.
