Swearin new album 2018

Earlier this year, Philadelphia indie rock group Swearin’, fronted by Alison Crutchfield, announced they were reuniting for a tour with Superchunk. And now that the band has signed with Merge Records, they’ve announced their first new album in five years. On October 5, Swearin’ will release Fall Into the Sun. In a press release, Crutchfield calls it “the adult Swearin’ album.” The first single, “Grow Into a Ghost,” seems to reflect that shift, less the scrappy indie rock the band played previously and more of a densely layered quasi-shoegaze track that sounds punchier and more direct. Listen to it below.

Swearin’s last album was 2013′s Surfing Strange. Earlier this year, Crutchfield released her new solo album, Tourist in This Town.
