On October 20, Wild Arrows return with a new EP, Rejection Bloom. And today, they’ve released a new video for “The Last Day of Summer,” the first single from the new set of songs. They’ve released a new lyric video for the song, which you can watch below, and it’s a fitting close to the summer season, with glowing synthesizers and twinkling effects, rich in melancholy and and a bit of John Hughes soundtrack nostalgia. It’s rich, warm and infectious, and you can check it out below.
Mike Law of Wild Arrows said in a statement, “This song is about a very specific moment when I was a teenager feeling deep, endless heartbreak, but not about romantic love. I walked out of my house into the Summer night and all my molecules moved around and wouldn’t go back.”
Download “The Last Day of Summer” and watch out for a preorder via the group’s Bandcamp.
