The War on Drugs’ “Holding On” video is an emotional epic

The War on Drugs have just released a video for “Holding On,” the new single from their upcoming album A Deeper Understanding, out August 25 via Atlantic. The clip was directed by filmmaker Brett Haley, with concept by Krysten Ritter, and stars Frankie Faison (The Wire). The clip follows a man as he gets up in the morning, takes a walk, pets a dog, has lunch at a diner, plays pool and eventually gets a ride with The War on Drugs frontman Adam Granduciel. There’s a heartbreaking, melancholy undercurrent to the video, which is both beautifully shot and highly moving. Watch the War on Drugs “Holding On” video below.
