Battles announce new album, La Di Da Di
Battles have announced a new album. On Sept. 18, the math-rock trio will release La Di Da Di, their follow-up to 2012’s Gloss Drop, via Warp Records. From the title you’d think this was a tribute to Slick Rick, though that’s probably not the case. A press release states that the album is “a mushrooming monolith of repetition. Here is an organic techno thrum of nearly infinite loops that refuse to remain consistent. The rhythmic genus of Battles is here as ever; full frontal, heightened and unforgiving – the gauntlet through which melody and harmony must pass, assailed at every turn.”
That sensual-looking breakfast up top is the album’s cover art, and you can check out the tracklist below.
