Rock Docs Podcast: Brian Wilson: Long Promised Road with Dan Koch

The Rock Docs podcast returns with a tribute to a great that we lost earlier this year, Beach Boys founder and songwriter Brian Wilson. Today’s episode of Rock Docs is about Brian Wilson: Long Promised Road, a 2021 film about the late Beach Boys musical genius directed by Brent Wilson (no relation).

Joining hosts Andy Keatts and David Lizerbram this week is Dan Koch, rom the Pretty Good Vibrations podcast, which analyzes and celebrates pop and rock music and its crucial role throughout our lives. Koch previously made an appearance on the show to discuss Gimme Danger, about Iggy & the Stooges, a very dissimilar tale of brothers coming together in the ’60s to create some stone-cold classics while indulging in rock ‘n’ roll excess.

Long Promised Road takes us for a ride, literally, with Brian and his buddy Jason Fine as Brian, late in life, revisits places from his past. We also see Brian working in the studio on a new song and enjoy a curious mix of talking heads.
