Hear the new 22-minute Animal Collective song, “Defeat”

Animal Collective have had a busy couple of years, between the release of last year’s excellent full-length album Time Skiffs and this year’s Spirit They’ve Gone, Spirit They’ve Vanished reissue—not to mention Panda Bear and Sonic Boom’s collaborative album, Reset. And there’s even more where that came from. Today, Animal Collective have shared an epic new single, “Defeat,” which spans a hefty 22 minutes. It’s the A-side of a new 12-inch due out on August 25 via Domino, with “The Challenge (Live Edit)” on the B side.
