Hear a new ripper from Thou, “Unbidden Guest”
Last month, Thou announced the details of their upcoming album Umbilical, which will be released May 31 via Sacred Bones. After releasing the first single, “I Feel Nothing When You Cry,” which we named an Essential Track, they’ve shared another new song, “Unbidden Guest,” which arrives via an amazing visualizer that depicts a bunch of kids eating pizza and watching a Thou show on one of their phones. Wholesome fun! Check it out below.
Vocalist Bryan Funck said in a statement, “Physical deterioration by way of psychological disarray. Retreading a well-worn path of self grievance. Othering mental illness and learned behaviour in order to crush them under the dominance of epistemic willpower. ‘The last time you cried, who’d you think was inside?'”
In 2022, Thou released a collaborative album with Mizmor, Myopia.
