Hear Jimmy Eat World and Manchester Orchestra cover each other’s songs
Jimmy Eat World and Manchester Orchestra announced a co-headlining tour earlier this year. And now, ahead of the launch of the tour, the two bands have covered each other’s songs. On a new limited-edition split 7-inch (and digitally), Manchester Orchestra take on Jimmy Eat World’s “Table for Glasses,” from 1999’s Clarity, while Jimmy Eat World tackles “Telepath,” from 2021’s The Million Masks of God. Hear them both below.
“It was an absolute honor to trade covers with one of our favorite bands,” said Manchester Orchestra’s Andy Hull in a statement. “We approached our cover with admiration for the original and had a blast exploring all of its spacious corners.”
Jimmy Eat World’s Jim Adkins added, “Manchester Orchestra is great at sitting you down, spinning your chair around and stopping it to show you are now somewhere else. We knew if we were going to cover an immersive song like ‘Telepath,’ we’d have to commit to ‘stopping the chair’ at bizzaro-Jimmy Eat World universe.”
