Judas Priest Invincible Shield review

Over the weekend, Judas Priest played the inaugural Power Trip festival in Indio, California, where they announced the upcoming release of a new album, Invincible Shield. The band’s first new album in six years will be released on March 8 via Sony Music, just a few months earlier than the 50th anniversary of their debut, Rocka Rolla. The tracklist hasn’t yet been revealed, but according to Apple Music, the first song is titled “Panic Attack.” It’s the first single, and will be released on Friday. Watch a trailer for the album below.

Guitarist Richie Faulkner said about their new music in an interview, “It’s sounding fantastic. It’s sounding great. Obviously, I’m gonna say that, but if it didn’t sound great, we wouldn’t be bothering. You’ve gotta do something that we think is better than the last one so to speak. And if it wasn’t, Priest don’t need to do that.”

Judas Priest’s last album, Firepower, was featured on our list of the Best Metal Albums of 2018. Their live album, Unleashed in the East, is featured on our list of 50 Essential Live Albums.
