Mclusky planning to release new album in 2025 via Ipecac
Welsh noise rock trio Mclusky have been a lot more active in the past few years. They’ve embarked on a series of reunion tours in the UK, Europe and North America, in addition to reissuing their celebrated 2002 album Mclusky Do Dallas. Today the band announced that they are in the process of working on a new album that’s slated for release on Ipecac (Melvins, Mike Patton, Spotlights) in 2025. It’ll be their first new album in 21 years. Last year they released a new single, “Unpopular Parts of a Pig/The Digger You Deep.”
The band said in a statement, “mclusky was a band between 1999 and 2005 and now they are a band again.
“I know, mindblowing. go wonder at the night.
“mclusky is recording a new album. it will be released on ipecac in 2025.
“mclusky firmly believes that all djs should be French.”
In a 2022 interview with Treble, mclusky’s Andrew Falkous said, “What I’m saying now is that, even though we’d like to do more stuff, we’re writing for a record, everything is completely in the moment. There’s no expectation of anything else. There’s a hope buried in the back of your head behind the tinnitus. But there’s no stupid dream. There’s just the moment where you stand there and the audience is there and your bandmates are there and you’re breathing it all in”
