New The Residents book, A Sight for Sore Eyes Vol. 2 due this summer

A new book of The Residents artifacts is on the way. On August 11, The Residents: A Sight for Sore Eyes Vol. 1 will be released via Melodic Virtue, with a bonus seven-inch of the previously unreleased track “That’ll Be the Day (Baby Baby)”. Printed in a limited run of 2,000 copies, the book—compiled by artist and archivist Aaron Tanner—is an authorized visual history of the band featuring rare and unseen photos, artwork and other items.

The book also includes an introduction by Penn Jillette, as well as quotes from Duran Duran’s Nick Rhodes, Bauhaus’ David J, Mark Mothersbaugh and Gerald Casale of Devo, Mouse on Mars, Shudder to Think’s Craig Wedren, Lightning Bolt’s Brian Chippendale, The Orb’s Alex Paterson, The Mars Volta’s Cedric Bixler-Zavala, Moby, actor/director Alex Winter and more.
