Smirk share animated video for driving post-punk song, “Bad Behavior”
Smirk have returned with a new single and video, their first since their 2022 album Material (one of our favorite under-the-radar gems from that year) and their 7″ EP from last year. Their latest, “Bad Behavior,” is a tense, taut post-punk number with a driving rhythm juxtaposed against open ringing chords and a judicious use of space. But before long it picks up into a proper barnburner of a song. It also arrives with a colorful new video featuring stop-motion animation, created by Nate Kahn and Carson Brom. Plus, check out their upcoming tour dates on the flyer below.
Smirk’s Nick Vicario said in a statement, “‘Bad Behavior’ was written after my recent cross-country move. I sort of see it as a goodbye to my old self-destructive tendencies and as a hello to my new 7 month old puppy, who is constantly in trouble. All proceeds from the single will be donated to HEAL Palestine.”
