Spoon announce new album, Lucifer on the Sofa
Spoon have announced a new album. On February 11, the group will release Lucifer on the Sofa, via Matador. The first single is titled “The Hardest Cut.” Check it out below.
The new album was co-produced by Spoon and Mark Rankin (Adele, Queens of the Stone Age), with contributions from Dave Fridmann and Justin Raisen. Vocalist Britt Daniel describes the album as “the sound of classic rock as written by a guy who never did get Eric Clapton.” He also adds, “I spent a lot of 2018 and 2019 listening to ZZ Top.” Check out the album’s tracklist and artwork below.
Tonight and tomorrow, the band is also streaming Back to the Life // Live from Los Angeles, the group’s September concert from the Teragram Ballroom, directed by Andreas Neumann, which features songs from throughout their catalog, including from Lucifer on the Sofa. Find more info and tickets here.
Lucifer on the Sofa follows 2017’s Hot Thoughts.
