Chicago post-hardcore group Stuck are releasing a new EP on August 13 titled Content That Makes You Feel Good, via Exploding In Sound. It follows the group’s 2020 album Change Is Bad, and the first track they’ve shared from it is titled “City of Police.” Check out the new video below.

The band’s Greg Obis says about the song, “At the first big protest I went to last year in Chicago, things naturally got very ugly after a few hours. I was on the Magnificent Mile in downtown Chicago walking south on Michigan Avenue when CPD raised the drawbridge over the river outside of the Wrigley Building and trapped in protestors there. They called in the National Guard and shot tear gas at protestors. I distinctly remember seeing some huge National Guardsman in riot gear and thinking ‘Oh fuck, this really is the City of Police.’ So, I wrote the song about that.”

Stuck Content That Makes You Feel Good tracklist:

  1. Labor Leisure
  2. City of Police
  3. Serf the Web
  4. White Lie
  5. Playpen of Dissent

Stuck’s Change Is Bad is featured on our list, Hidden Gems: 18 Albums to Buy on Bandcamp Friday.
