Sylvan Esso announce new album, No Rules Sandy

Sylvan Esso has announced a new album. On August 12, the band will release No Rules Sandy, which they performed in its entirety over the weekend at the Newport Folk Festival. Its first single is “Didn’t Care,” which you can hear below. In a press release, Sylvan Esso vocalist Amelia Meath says their new album “feels like who we actually are. It just feels like us. We’re not trying to fit into the mold, just happily being our freak selves.”

The group’s Nick Sanborn adds, “I think that the ultimate effect of our last record and the pandemic has been the feeling of like, ‘Fuck that, I know what I want. And it’s now, or never. Sylvan Esso’s last album was 2020’s Free Love.
