Stream or download Run the Jewels 2 a few days early
El-P and Killer Mike had originally announced the release of their new album Run the Jewels 2 for Oct. 27, to coincide with the usual Tuesday release dates for new music. But it looks like there’s been a little bit of a change of plans. The album ended up leaking early online, as anything and everything on the Internet is wont to do. So El and Mike moved up the release to right now, as originally announced via El-P’s instagram.
In an email to their mailing list early this morning, the duo sent out a link to download the album for free, with the message, “We just couldn’t wait another damn day longer to share RTJ2 with you. Thank you to all the jewel runners worldwide for all your support. It means everything to us. Please enjoy the music. It was made for you.”
We had some indication ahead of time that this was going to be a pretty incredible album, thanks to the release of tracks like “Blockbuster Night Pt. 1” and “Close Your Eyes (And Count to Fuck).” And now we’ve got the proof. In addition to releasing the album for download, Mass Appeal made it available to stream via Soundcloud, just in case you’re not ready for the commitment just yet. You can listen to the album below, or grab the Run the Jewels 2 download here.
