Lykke Li taking break from touring, citing “health” reasons

Lykke Li has spent the past year on the road, supporting her newest album I Never Learn — which was one of our Top 50 Albums of 2014. But Li is taking a break right now, which means she’s canceled her appearances at the St. Jerome’s Laneway Festival dates in Australia, New Zealand and Singapore. The Swedish singer and songwriter posted a note on Instagram, saying that “after 7 years of touring, my health is screaming/begging for me to listen/heal/slow down”. She does say that she’ll return to touring after she slows down, however, so this is only a short-term break.
Read Li’s message as posted on Instagram:
I am utterly devastated, sometimes we push and push but the body simply won’t follow. I gave it all I had, my body, heart, and soul. After 7 years of touring my health is screaming/begging for me to listen/heal/slow down. Thank you so much for understanding. Thank you for listening to my bleeding heart and watching me dance in the dark these past years. I love you. I will come back. Stronger. But for now my loves, I have to rest. U can’t always “win” …. Take care of yourselves!!! You mean the world to me.
