My Morning Jacket announce new album, The Waterfall
My Morning Jacket are returning with new music in 2015. After Jim James made his solo debut in 2013 with Regions of Light and Sound of God, the band is back to full-time, and on May 4, they’ll release The Waterfall, their follow-up to 2011’s Circuital, via ATO. The band has shared a new track from the album, titled “Big Decisions,” which you can stream below.
The album was recorded with Tucker Martine. In a press release, Jim James said this about the album: “What fused this record is, I feel like it’s a weird turning point for the universe. I feel like so many people I know are getting divorced or having kids. There’s so much change going on and I feel like, for me, that one chapter has ended. And if you’re looking at a book, there’s a hand flipping the page up and it’s in between the chapter you just finished and the one that’s getting ready to start. That’s kind of the sound of this record, and my life, the sound of the page turning and not being sure what’s coming next.”
