Majical Cloudz – “Downtown”

On October 16, Majical Cloudz will release Are You Alone?. It’s the group’s second album, and the Canadian duo of Devon Welsh and Matthew Otto have already shared one track, “Silver Car Crash.” Today, they’ve unveiled another new video from the album, for the new single, “Downtown.” The clip is directed by the band’s Devon Welsh along with Neil Corcoran. It’s a stark, black-and-white clip, the simplicity of which matches the haunting minimalism of the synth-pop track. It focuses heavily on Welsh and Otto, who are seen both inside of a shadowy room as well as outside, against a backdrop of abandoned buildings, as well as inside them. There’s graffiti, an old spiral staircase and a beautiful simplicity to the whole thing. Watch the Majical Cloudz “Downtown” video below.
