The Avalanches share new track, “Colours”

Australian plunderphonic trio The Avalanches have released another single in anticipation of their highly anticipated Wildflower. The track originally premiered on Zane Lowe’s Beats 1 radio show. “Colours” is the second single to be released so far, following the Danny Brown-featuring “Frankie Sinatra” and a hotline teaser of a track titled “Subways.” The latest track is a psychedelic escapade of reversed instrumentals coated in ethereal, wavering vocals from Mercury Rev’s Jonathan Donahue. A signature Avalanches flute feature makes an appearance on the latter half of the track as well.
Wildflower is set to feature an eclectic group of artists, including Camp Lo, Toro Y Moi, Father John Misty, Biz Markie, Royal Trux’s Jennifer Herrema, Silver Jews’ David Berman, and Warren Ellis. The follow-up to 2000’s Since I Left You will be released on July 8.
