Japandroids share details of new album, Near to the Wild Heart of Life
Japandroids have revealed the details of their new album, Near to the Wild Heart of Life. The album will be released on Jan. 27 via Anti-. The band has also shared the title track, which you can stream below. The single will be released as a 7-inch, with a cover of Talking Heads’ “Love→ Building on Fire” as its b-side. In a new interview with Pitchfork about the album, Brian King discusses their approach for the album: “In some ways, we’re approaching this like it’s our very first record. We’re removing all the self-imposed rules that led to the songs and the sound of our whole career up until now. When you do that, you can try anything.”
